Our approach

People with skills and motivation are an asset to any organisation. And like any investment, when done with care, training and coaching can yield rich and satisfying returns. So, what's our approach to training and staff development? We think it should be effective, value-for-money, practical, enjoyable, and positive.

  • Effective. Training must get results and cause change. More people trained gets more singing from the same hymn-sheet, and supporting one another in new-found skills.
  • Value for money. Our in-house courses can cost as little as a few tens of pounds per person per day. Training costs time and money and must be worth the expenditure of both.
  • Practical. Who said, "We learn by doing"? Theory is fine, so long as it lays a base for action. So we lecture very little; instead, our courses focus on group discussions, exchange-of-ideas, syndicate work, and practical exercises.
  • Enjoyable. Our courses are high-energy, light-hearted and good fun, but for a deadly serious reason: people learn best and remember it longest when they enjoy themselves. (And trainers do a better job when they enjoy it too.)
  • Positive. Training should be something people look forward to, not dread. It is an opportunity for self-development, whether by learning new skills or by just gaining confidence. And it is a reward - because people are worth investing in.
